March for Life, Washington, DC, 2010

Sr. Renée Daigle, MSC, Campus Minister, accompanied 5 Southeastern Students  -- D.J. Abrams, Michele Cavalier, Whitney Craig, Rosa Davis (SELU Students for Life founder),  and Paul Douzat -- to the March for Life in Washington, DC in January of 2010. They attended the Youth Rally and Mass for Life with about 20,000 others and then participated in the March itself. Reports say there were 200,000 people marching this year -- the biggest yet with the FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act) looming on the horizon.
The students also attended the National Students for Life Conference where they heard presentations and networked with other college students to learn ways to promote a Culture of Life on their campus.

LCCS 2010

"    " was the theme for the Louisiana Catholic College Students Conference held at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in January 2010. This is an annual opportunity for the Catholic college students of our state to get together to build relationships, network, pray, play and grow personally as well as in their faith.
Friday night's keynote speaker was Mr. Marcel Lejeune, Campus Minister at Texas A&M who's topic was "Get Out of the Boat: NOW is the Time to Walk on Water." Saturday morning, Fr. Stan Fortuna, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, challenged participants to "Keep it Real." Sunday morning Marcel Lejeune and some students from Texas A&M shared some best practices and ideas for making campus ministry stronger on our campuses. Prayer, reconciliation, breakout sessions, exhibits, Mass, a dinner banquet  and dance rounded out the activities of a very worthwhile weekend.
The next LCCS will be January  2011!!!
